Purchasing

Welcome to the Fresno County Office of Education’s purchasing page, which has been created pursuant to Education Code § 38110 and Fresno County Board of Education Administrative Regulation 3300 to provide information related to piggybackable contracts for standard school supplies and equipment that may be available for use by school districts within Fresno County. School districts in Fresno County may purchase directly from the vendor any necessary school supplies and equipment provided on valid bids.

By providing the contracts and lists of standard school supplies, the County Superintendent and County Board do not make any representation regarding the validity of the contracts as applied to the school districts. Each school district that purchases any school supplies or equipment using the contracts shall be responsible for determining and verifying the validity of the contracts and for complying with all laws and requirements applicable to the school district. The County Board and the County Superintendent make no representation, guarantee, or warranty regarding the quality, suitability, or merchantability of any supply or equipment on the list of standard school supplies and equipment. Moreover, the County Superintendent and County Board shall have no liability and no obligation to accept or pay for any school supplies and equipment that a school district purchases using the list of standard school supplies and equipment. Any purchase that a school district makes using the list of standard school supplies and equipment shall constitute an obligation and liability between only the purchasing school district and the vendor.

Purchasing Cooperative

The Fresno County Superintendent of Schools has established a purchasing cooperative for Fresno County elementary schools with average daily attendance of less than 2,500 in the preceding fiscal year. Accordingly, these districts may purchase standard school supplies and equipment directly from the vendor, based on the County Superintendent’s certification of the school districts’ membership in the purchasing cooperative. Payment for school supplies and equipment shall be made directly to the vendor by order of the governing board of the school district purchasing them in the same manner as other payments are made from school district funds.
